What is fascinating about the attached link is the levels of alienation that the writer obviously feels. And yet sitting here on another continent I can't help but wonder at the nature of the institution(s) he's talking about. from button-down shirts and khakis to Eagleton and the mid-West of nowhere, hardly surprising then that his self-contempt is as strong as his strong dislike of 'theory' . Anyway it's 2005 and from the middle of nowhere the death of theory is announced...
